Pool Party

Hello Loves,

A pool full of balloons is another check I can mark of my blog list. In fact, it kind of felt like we were in a dream or candyland. Let me set the stage for you, a beautiful 80 degrees sunny day in New York. Satellite radio playing in the background with Luke Bryan debuting all of his new songs on his new CD dropping Tuesday. For anyone who knows me, knows that was like the topping to the cake on this gorgeous day aka the perfect background music for this shoot. It made all the huffing and puffing of the balloons worth it.
Alright the important stuff; The fashion. I am wearing an LF dress that I bought from their summer sale Thursday. Ok here's the deal ladies, EVERYTHING in the store is 60% off right now. If you have shopped there before you know they have the most unique/great/wonderful/cute/fashionable/can't find anywhere else kind of clothing. But with that comes the price, which isn't cheap.  So if your like me you shop there two times a year- the winter and summer sales. If your fortunate enough to have bought just one item at full price at some point through out the year then you get an invite to their private pre-sale which you receive an extra 10% off on top of the 60%. Plus you don't have to deal with as much of a crazy crowd. My shoes are STEVEN by Steve Madden, also from the sale. Got them 70% off. My cobalt blue purse is from Brandy Melville last year, but it happened to compliment the dress quite nicely.
Meet my beautiful friend Kellie. She is wearing an Urban Outfitters dress and her shoes are from Target. How great are they? Talk about adding a pop of color. These are perf for adding a little spice to your outfit. She was quite the trooper in this shoot so thank you Kel! Also- special thanks to My aunt and Uncle for letting us use their lovely home for this shoot and our assistants Georgie and Gidget. Georgie is the little(big) guy in the last pic. Isn't he cute?

Beach Bums

We finally were able to make it to the beach this weekend. Destination: Long Branch, Jersey Shore. First timers at this beach and it ended up being the perfect escape from the city. It was 90 degrees and sunny with huuuuge waves. We got a full day in because we arrived around 8:30 AM. I am not a morning person but tell me I'm going to the beach and I will make it happen. Eh hmmm Starbucks that's where you come in ;).
Alright straight to the clothing, or lack of... Jackie's swimsuit is from Target.  I'm sure it is no secret but Target has great swimwear pieces for totally affordable prices. Plus you can mix and match. Her adorbs watermelon headband is from Urban Outfitters and her shades are from Forever 21.  I am wearing a Juicy swimsuit that I recently got on sale at Macy's.  Right now is the best time to score a new swimmie or two for those last few vacations coming up.  End of season sales heellloooo. :) My polka dot shorts are from Almost Famous and I love them. My sunglasses are Kenneth Cole and my fedora is from a street fair in NYC for $10; best purchase all summer.

That's all folks.

XOXO Katie & Jackie

Parisian Ball

A couple of friends and I decided to check out the debut of Parisian Ball on Governor's Island.  The event description consisted of vintage carousels, DJ's from Paris & live bands. The idea was to recreate a majestic carnival from the French Revolution, just in time for Bastille Day.  So cool right? The weather wasn't as good as we were hoping, but the rain didn't stop us from enjoying the festivities. Picked up a few ponchos just in case and we were ready to go.  The fashion was great, we saw everything from Marie Antoinette to modern day Parisian style. Lot's of stripes, fedoras, converses, combat boots, denim shorts, crop tops & Ray-Bans.
We purchased a bottle of Prosseco upon arriving and posted up at the picnic tables to take in all of our surroundings.  After that we hit up the rides, which go forwards & backwards so beware ;) The DJ's were fun and were spinning some pretty decent mixes.  When we arrived 1 girl was dancing, by the time we left it turned into a rage party. One boy was doing back bend kick overs if you catch my drift...
It's definitely something you should check out, I believe the rides will be there for the rest of summer!
